About Us

Who We Are

California Prepared is a private, membership-based group dedicated to building real-world readiness through practical training and preparedness.

We equip our members with the skills and mindset needed to respond effectively to emergencies — from medical incidents and natural disasters to unexpected crises in daily life. Our approach emphasizes hands-on learning, self-reliance, and neighbor-to-neighbor support. We believe preparedness isn’t about fear — it’s about capability. By strengthening individuals, we strengthen communities.

Our Journey

How We Got Started

California Prepared started the way most good things do — a handful of people who stopped waiting around and started doing something. A few friends who’d been through wildfires, earthquakes, and blackouts got together and said: we need to be better at this. Not someday. Now. So we started training. Weekends in the field. Medical skills in somebody’s garage. Radio comms on a hilltop. We kept showing up, we kept learning, and word got around. People asked to join. We built a structure — bylaws, a vetting process, leadership. Not because we wanted bureaucracy, but because a group that trains together needs trust, and trust needs standards.

Hear From Our Community

What Our Members Say

Straight from the people who show up and do the work.

I’d been prepping solo for years — stockpiling gear, watching YouTube, thinking I had it figured out. Joining this group showed me how much I was missing. There’s no substitute for actually running scenarios with other people.

Marcus

I’m a mom with two kids and zero military background. I was honestly nervous to apply. But from day one, people met me where I was and helped me build real skills. Nobody talked down to me.

Rachel

California Prepared’s community approach makes all the difference. Their programs teach us how to work together and support one another effectively.

Tony

I joined looking for skills and found a community. We’ve got nurses, electricians, veterans, teachers — all kinds of people pulling in the same direction. When the next big one hits, I know exactly who I’m calling.

Our Mission

Self – Family – Community

Our mission is carried out through three foundational pillars:

01

Self

Preparedness begins with the individual. We actively pursue physical, mental, and practical readiness through continuous training, skill development, and personal discipline. A capable individual is the foundation of an effective response.

02

Family

Strong families create stable communities. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our households by developing essential skills — emergency preparedness, first aid, communication, and survival readiness. Our families are equipped, informed, and prepared.

03

Community

Prepared individuals and families strengthen the communities they serve. We are committed to lawful, ethical, and proactive engagement — working alongside neighbors, local resources, and first responders to build a culture of readiness, cooperation, and mutual aid.
